HPB cancers refer to the anatomical areas of the liver, bile system (including gall bladder) and pancreas. Not all tumours of the liver are malignant (cancerous) and some, namely blood vessel tumours called hemangiomas, only require observation and monitoring to make sure they do not get large enough to cause discomfort.
